This beautiful and well-made solid oak breakfront from the respected Herter Brothers Furniture company of NYC (C. 1880) sat in a garage for 20 years before the customer inherited it from a relative who had once painted it black! We carefully hand stripped the paint off to expose the beautiful white oak wood. Once we prepped the surfaces we stained it and applied a hand-rubbed lacquer finish. A good cleaning of the glass and mirrors and a hand polishing to the solid brass hardware made this piece look like the day it was made. It was a happy outcome for us and our customer!
